Rubicon Archaeology was founded in 2000 and is a commercial company offering a broad range of professional archaeological services. Our work involves providing archaeological advice and support for commercial developers and their agents, local authorities, national heritage organisations and private individuals. Over the years our business has gone from strength to strength and we are one of the leading archaeological companies in the Irish sector. We provide an extensive range of services to deal efficiently and cost effectively with any scenario.

    2025 is our 25th birthday!

  • Transport Scotland Framework

    Rubicon named as service provider for the A9 Tay Crossing to Ballinluig. A wonderful opportunity for the team to work in a stunning landscape.

    2024
  • Expansion to Germany

    Rubicon Archaeologie founded and Infra Europe joint venture begun. Infra added to SuedLink archaeology framework.

    2023
  • M28 Cork to Ringaskiddy Road Scheme

    Our biggest road scheme in Ireland (and Cork!) to date. Up the Rebels!

    2022
  • National Highways (England)

    National Highways includes Infra JV in £195m framework. Rubicon as part of Infra continuous to grow in the UK market and we consolidate our joint venture.

    2021
  • High Speed 2 (HS2)

    Rubicon as part of Infra JV added to largest civils project in Europe – our collaboration with Network Archaeology was an amazing success.

    2019
  • Infra UK Joint Venture begun

    A new chapter with increased opportunities!

  • A4226 Five Mile Lane Road Improvement Scheme

    First major road scheme in the UK – we became an international archaeology service provider!

  • Expansion to the UK

  • N9/N10 Kilcullen-Carlow Road Scheme

    Winning multiple contracts on this scheme solidified us as a contender for large scale infrastructure projects – we also produced three fantastic books on the results.

  • N25 Waterford Bypass

    Our first major road scheme in Ireland – created the foundation for our approach to delivery ahead of infrastructure.
