Job DescripionWe are looking for enthusiastic and skilful Project Assistants to join us on projects. The central task of the Project Assistant is to excavate and record archaeological features on-site, under direction from the Site Supervisor. This role may also be required to undertake certain office duties including data entry and environmental and/or finds processing.
Summary of essential job functions▪Adherence to disciplinary codes of conduct and taking direction from the Site Supervisor on such matters
▪Adherence to all Health & Safety and Waste Management policies and taking direction from the Site Supervisor on such matters
▪Ensuring that best archaeological practice is followed at all times, within the terms of Rubicon’s excavation manual
▪Implementing the instructions of the Site Supervisor regarding excavation strategies
▪Carrying out the tasks assigned to them in a timely and efficient manner
▪Undertaking archaeological monitoring of construction/demolition works as required
▪Assistance with logistical works associated with site set up, general maintenance and site closure including (but not limited to) loading and unloading of tools equipment and samples; general cleaning/ sweeping and tidying of compounds, cabins (inc. contents), roads and vehicles; moving, laying down and maintenance of barrow boards; cleaning and maintenance of tools, samples buckets and similar; assisting with lifting and moving of traffic management equipment; assistance with lifting, moving, erection or dismantling of fencing including edge protection and perimeter fencing
▪Possible office duties (including, but not limited to)
▪Cataloguing and assessing the Site Archive
▪Data entry of the Site Archive
▪The timely and efficient completion of any tasks assigned
▪Processing and cataloguing of environmental and/or artefactual material
Abilities Required▪Good communication (oral and written) skills
▪Multi-tasking and time management abilities
▪Ability to integrate quickly and successfully into a team
▪Ability to work on own initiative with supervision
▪Ability to follow instructions and take direction

Salary: £26,002.67 to £27,489.13 Dependant on experience
