Job Summary
Looking for a Zooarchaeologist at the Supervisor or Project Officer level to join our post-excavation department in our Cardiff office. As we expand our specialist services, the successful candidate will play a key role in supervising the team, contributing to a range of post-excavation tasks, and supporting the department’s growth.
Salary: £29,622.49 to £36,941.84 Dependant on experience

Positions are permanent, subject to a 6-month probation period. Potential work in our German, Ireland and Scottish offices on an Ad-hoc basis.

As we expand our specialist services, the successful candidate will play a key role in supervising the team, contributing to a range of post-excavation tasks, and supporting the department’s growth.

Successful candidates should be able to demonstrate:
- Experience with collecting, processing, and identification of faunal bone
- Production of zooarchaeological assessment reports
- Experience of leading and participating in the archaeological post-excavation process
- High level of organisational skills
- Knowledge to provide guidance to field teams on sampling strategy and excavation of ABGs
- Experience with micro-fauna identification desirable
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance
All candidates should be able to demonstrate the following:
- Varied archaeological experience.
- Good knowledge of British archaeology.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety considerations pertaining to archaeology
- Excellent punctuality and timekeeping.
- Current UK driving licence preferred.
Criteria:
- CIFA membership is highly desirable
- ICAZ membership is welcomed
- Relevant qualification
- Report writing
- Publication Record is also desirable
