E-BOOKS

The excavations at Five Mile Lane, just outside Barry, revealed a complex picture of the evolution and exploitation of the landscape in this part of the Vale. From a ceremonial and funerary landscape in the Neolithic and Bronze Age periods, through to farming in the Iron Age and being part of a wealthy Roman farmstead, to a Medieval burial ground which reused the earlier burial mound, and finally to the post-medieval agricultural landscape we see today, the archaeologists were able to trace the development of this swathe of land, uncovering many surprises along the way.

Publications and Articles

The importance of disseminating our archaeological findings both to the academic community and a wider audience cannot be overstated. In many instances, making the excavation results available to the general public is one of our final obligations to our clients. Other forms of community engagement, such as lectures or presentations, may suffice for smaller projects – but sometimes the archaeology is significant enough to merit more detailed discussion in published books or monographs. Rubicon Heritage has contributed to many such publications and articles over the years. We look forward to assisting you with your publication needs in the future.
