by Megan McGrath Before starting the Graduate Trainee Scheme with Rubicon Heritage, the only experience of archaeology I had outside of a classroom was a two-week field school I participated in during college. I thought that had somehow given me an idea of what working in commercial archaeology would really be like; I was very wrong. I came into the scheme with very little practical experience of what archaeology was like as a profession, but I feel that I have gained so much experience and knowledge in just six short months with the help of all the amazing staff here at Rubicon.
As part of our ongoing commitment to staff development, Rubicon Heritage is sponsoring Rachel Morgan to undertake a Postgraduate Certificate in Leadership. Rachel is one of the Project Officers in our Cardiff office and has recently enrolled in the Leadership and Management programme run by Construction Futures Wales.
As part of our continuing commitment to the Continued Professional Development of our teams across the UK and Ireland, Rubicon are pleased to announce that we are rolling out the Archaeological Skills Passport for all our staff. Developed by David Connolly of BAJR, the passport is intended to assist towards professional accreditation, help to identify career gaps, and serve as a means of logging CPD.
