Environmental Archaeologist
Job Summary
We are looking for an Environmental Archaeologist specialising in archaeobotanics at project officer or supervisor level, to join our post-excavation department in our Cardiff office. The successful candidate will be expected to supervise our environmental processing teams and contribute to a range of post-excavation tasks. They should have demonstrable experience of successfully supervising staff and be reliable, flexible, driven and innovative, with excellent communication skills.
Salary: £29,622.49 to £36,941.84 (depending on experience)

Successful candidates should be able to demonstrate:
- Experience with collecting and processing archaeobotanical samples
- Experience sorting archaeobotanical samples and identifying environmental material
- Experience of leading and participating in the archaeological post-excavation process
- High level of organisational skills
- Production of basic descriptive archaeobotanical reports based on macro-remains assemblages
- Knowledge to provide guidance to field teams on sampling strategy
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance
- Varied archaeological experience.
- Good knowledge of British archaeology.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety considerations pertaining to archaeology
- Excellent punctuality and timekeeping.
- Current UK driving licence preferred.
Criteria:
- CIFA membership is highly desirable
- AEA membership is welcomed
- Relevant qualification
- Report writing
- Publication Record is also desirable
